Volkie's Burger
About This Spot
Nestled quietly along the busy stretch of Abay Kunanbay Cd. in Çankaya, Volkie’s Burger feels like a well-kept secret shared among friends. As you step inside, you’re met with an inviting, warm ambiance that blends the casual spirit of a neighborhood spot with the comforting rhythms of a family-run kitchen. The pace here is unhurried—meals are meant to be savored rather than rushed, fitting perfectly with the relaxed flow of the space.
Volkie’s isn’t about flashy trends or quick turns; it’s a place where every burger carries a sense of care and intention. The air hums softly with conversation, the quiet clatter of plates, and the inviting aroma of freshly grilled patties. This is a destination where moments of genuine connection—between the kitchen and table, staff and guest—are part of the experience itself.
The menu hints at familiar comforts but carries thoughtful twists that surprise and delight. Whether it’s the understated charm of a burger layered with unexpected vegetable notes or the tender embrace of a freshly toasted bun, the flavors feel deliberate yet effortless. Fries come alongside in generous portions, their crispness a perfect counterpoint to the softness of the burgers, and the variety of sauces invites quiet exploration with each bite.
Behind the scenes, the magic of Volkie’s emerges from a commitment to craft and kindness. The staff’s warm attentiveness lends a personal touch—one that makes waiting part of the experience rather than a hurdle. There’s a feeling that good things take a moment, and those moments are full of local warmth and genuine care.
For anyone wandering through Ankara’s bustling neighborhoods, this unassuming spot offers a slice of slow, heartfelt enjoyment—a place to settle in, share a meal, and appreciate the everyday joys that come from simple, well-made food and human connection.

As of late 2023, the Ankara gourmet burger wave must be close to its peak. When the wave recedes, we should hope this place survives. This is a friendly, family place that is committed to excellence. So service can be slow sometimes. But once they arrive, the burgers are soft, lovingly assembled and very tasty. My only wish is for an enormous neon sign that counts down from 32 each day.

Absolutely loved this cozy family-run burger place! Even though there was a bit of a wait due to the crowd (around 20 minutes), it was totally worth it. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and the food is just outstanding — juicy burgers, crispy fries, and great sauces. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend for a relaxed and delicious meal!

I just had the best burger of my life! I found this spot on Google Maps, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the **Cosy Burger** for takeout, and they packed everything perfectly—crispy fries, neatly wrapped burger, and an impressive selection of sauces. The Cosy Burger has a unique twist with eggplant, and it’s *so* good! If you're an eggplant fan, you *have* to try it. I went during a weekday lunch, and it wasn’t too busy. From ordering to getting my food, it took around 20 minutes—super reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend this place—10/10!

I'd been wanting to try this place for a long time, but parking was a big issue due to its location, so I was only able to try it on a Sunday. I went for the "Dream Burger" on the menu. The burger bun was very fresh, warm, soft, and tasty. The meat was juicy and cooked just right. The balance and flavor with the caramelized onions and smoked meat inside the burger were good. The mustard was a bit overpowering but it was really tasty as a whole. The place is very clean, and they truly bake their own bread, just as mentioned on the menu. Normally, I wouldn't pair a burger with a traditional Turkish yogurt drink 'Ayran', but the Arslan brand Ayran was worth trying with its thick consistency and salty taste. The fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. If you are coming by car and able to find a parking spot, I definitely recommend it.

The burgers and fries were great. They had an English menu, and the staff were attentive and spoke English, which made ordering much easier. The wait for food was a bit long, so if you’re in a rush, this might not be the best option. Otherwise it’s a great place.

I’ve had cheese burgers from Shakeshack, In-n-Out, Steak-n-Shake, Culver’s, Honest Burgers, Byron, Burgermeister, and Moss Burger. This is the best cheese burger in Ankara. Includes french fries! English menu! English speaking staff!

An amazing find! This spot is not only cozy and offers delectable food, but it also caters to the keto diet. To top it all off, the chef is not only highly skilled, but incredibly friendly as well. This place provides an overall delightful dining experience that’s highly recommended!
